I was raised among books, making invisible friends in pages that seemed cast from dust and whose smell I carry on my hands to this day.

About This Quote

Reading is a great source of comfort, an escape from the real world, but if you are raised around books, you could be more aware of the existence of invisible friends that you may not even know about. A book can be an invisible friend for children because they are not able to touch them. They may not be able to see them but they are very real to an individual child. Books can make us feel closer to someone who has passed away because writing something down makes it real.
